PLONING!

I'm really DYING to watch PLONING. Seriously. Minsan lang ako maexcite sa Pinoy film. Well, to begin with, the storyline is purely PINOY. Not Korean-ish, American-ish, Japan-ish or many more ishes you'd like to add.

Lately, I've noticed that a lot of TV series are just a bunch of remakes courtesy of our Asian neighbors. Lobo, for example, has the same concept with the South Korean TV series Forbidden Love back in 2004. Read the synopsis and go figure. Then I recently learned from my high school friend and classmate that there will be a Filipino version of FullHouse with Chris Tiu being Rain and shockingly, Regine Velasquez will be Kim Sam-soon. I'm not sure if it's true but I have a feeling na totoo nga. Where the hell did all those fresh and creative Filipino writers went? (Tama ba grammar ko? Ahhh what the heck. I am not a writer.)

Anyhoo. By FRIDAY (hopefully), my eyes will feast on the 35mm film a.k.a. Ploning. Miguel already agreed to go with me :)

By the way, When Love Begins was my first choice ha because I was intrigued by the Aga-Anne tandem but I changed my mind all of a sudden. So... why choose this film over When Love Begins? Two reasons. 1) It's the product of hardwork and dedication written by a true Filipino writer, and 2.) It's not copied or franchised or remade or anything similar to those mentioned. (I'm not saying that When Love Begins is copied or anything. You get the point. Na-get mo ba?)

The real question: Bakit same date ang showing?
Answer:
Ewan ko rin eh.

It's our time to shine and show the world that the Philippine movie industry is still alive and ready to kick some Hollywood ass. It's also a way to rekindle the lost flame of our culture and show our neighboring countries that we still got IT.

If you guys are reading this, watch this film. I have faith in this movie, just as Ploning has her faith in love.

Happy Birthday Grace!

I know. My last post was very random and very emotional. It was just a burst of emotions. I even cried. I cry when I get pressured. Normal lang naman yun eh. For that, I no longer want to elaborate on that matter.

***

It was Grace's birthday yesterday (April 22). Since she's not here in the Philippines, we decided to celebrate her birthday at my house, like we did last year. Just me, Miguel and Richard. Ces wasn't able to come (first time it ever happened) because he had to fix stuff about his birth certificate and Nazi on the other hand, had swimming lessons on that very same day. Too bad.

I missed our laughs and kalokohans. Richard made me realize how happy and memorable high school was. He made me remember the small details that made high school worthwhile. The fun thing about high school barkada is that no matter how long you haven't seen each other or even talked to each other, the closeness stays. It's as if you've been together everyday. After feasting here in my house, we went to the Block. Supposed to be, we were to chill at Trinoma, but the irony of summer came. The rain poured real hard. So, we decided to stay at the Block instead.

Thank you Miguel for the leche flans. :)

Update

Hello again Cyber World! I've been busy the past week. One week felt like Forever.

To start with, yes, I've earned my tan lines... But no, I didn't wore two-piece bathing suits for that matter because I have not gathered enough courage to wear such. I am still very conservative, you know. It took me a long time before I managed to get into short shorts. The Puerto Galera experience was fun. (Was there last April 6-8, 2008). I was bummed since I wasn't able to bring the camera with me... my sister-in-law (my bro's wife) brought it to Las Piñas the day before we went to Galera and she and the twins stayed their through the night so I had to settle with my brother-in-law's (my sis' husband) camera. Of course, who am I to practice my vanity on his camera? Bummer. I'm still waiting for him to upload though. I got me some few stolen and vain shots there. But I promised myself that the next time I visit Galera, I would be bringing my own or perhaps a DSLR with me.

It was my first time to ride a ferry boat. Yes. I know. Loser me. From Batangas port to White Beach Puerto Galera - the ride took almost one and a half hour. The waves were crazy. Buti na lang hindi ako biyahilo. Bonamin, anyone? My sister, on the other hand, was on the verge of vommiting. While I was laughing at her with a coke in can in my hand- the coke spilled all over my bag. Good thing my bag was water proof. Karma? Nah. I don't think so. Blame the stupid waves and the driver who apparently was busy "texting".

I was expecting a lot from Galera... the beach, the sand and the night life. First time eh. But for me, it was pretty much boring there. The stalls were selling the same stuff and the beach floor was excruciating to the feet at night. I even got bitten by some stupid microorganism while I was swimming (technically, I was just standing because I can't swim). The first night was a Sunday, the beach was swarming with people in their bikinis and they weren't even planning on swimming. Haha. How funny. The saddest part of it all -- I didn't see, not even ONE, hot guy. Or maybe because I wasn't able to bring my glasses? There were cute guys though. But would you settle for cute? I don't think so. Hahaha!

The next couple of days were basically the same. I got sunburn just from sitting on the beach. Ouch. I even got my hair braided along with my sister and my niece. Good thing I had short hair, or else the people who braided hair slash masseuse, would probably have a hard time braiding my old long hair. Just a tip, don't ever get your hair braided after swimming. Namuti yung buhok after a few hours because of the sea's saltiness. Nakakatawa. I also got a henna tattoo. A G clef on my left arm. It's almost worn out by now. I really don't know what's the deal with the beach always associated with tattoos. Almost every living thing on that island were tattooed. (Except for the residents, maybe.) I would've enjoyed it better if I have my friends' company. Oh well. There's always a next time.

On the bright side... everything was free. It was actually the outing of my sister and her husband's family. In short, sabit lang ako. Haha. What can I do? My sister's mother-in-law invited me too. She said I was her "soon-to-be daughter-in-law". Why? Let's just say my brother-in-law has a younger bother just a year older than me and they're pairing me up with him. Yeah right. Ain't gonna happen.

***

After Galera, it was non-stop malling for me. I missed the malls and at the same time, nakakasawa. Gulo ko. I didn't even have the time for internet last week. Would you believe that?

I have a feeling that I've gained weight bigtime. Mocha ice cream, M&Ms, Twix, Pringles, Oreo, Cadburry, Toblerone, cake, Charlie Chan chicken pasta, New York's Finest, BK, Wham burgers, onion rings, carbonara, spaghetti and meatballs, Coke Zero, coffee... - are my daily dose of food. Feeling lang naman eh.

I think training with Dance Synergy this summer would shed the fat and all the bad weight. Hehe. But I'm pondering on quitting on the troupe. First of all, I was inactive for a whole year. Second, I am really in bad shape and I won't be able to do those kart wheels and back bends. Third, my passion for dancing has slowly disintergrated and lastly, tinatamad ako pumunta. Besides, I'm already on my junior year. I need to focus on more important stuff and probably things that would land me on a good job in the future.

I miss going to school and cramming. Haha. I do hope I won't acquire bed sores from all the "lying in bed and psp playing" routine. I already upgraded my nephews' psps. Thank you Cyberzone. I missed clearance day because I was still in Galera on that very same day. Sucks. It made me miss my block mates and our slr moments more. So there. The three-day Galera stay didn't quite cleared my head. I need to think more of my future and less of the present. (Where did that came from??) Argh. Please don't mind the grammar. I'm to lazy to spell/grammar check. It's good to be back. =)

Spontaneous

It's easier to shop when you're all by yourself. That's what I did yesterday after staying with my mom at the Block. I waited for her to ride a cab and then I went to Galleria to shop. Everything was unplanned.

I think I was able to go around the whole mall finding some suitable pairs of shorts and tank tops. I'm off to the beach :) But no, I won't be wearing two-piece swim suits any time soon. I haven't gathered the guts to do it. I'm skurrd. Gaah.

Uneven Genetics

It’s passed midnight and I still can’t get over what I’ve witnessed awhile ago.

I wasn’t really excited on going to the airport because first of all, traffic is still present in the portals of Edsa going towards Pasay. Good thing I managed to survive that sucky trip for almost one and a half hour. But my dad’s flight was delayed so when we got there around 10:30, he was still inside waiting for his baggage. So my mom and I decided to get out of the van and wait for him at the passenger’s arrival section while my hipag and the twins were off for another spin, which they did for four times because of the stupid "full" parking.

I was already thinking of excuses so whenever the guard walks towards us, I would say, “Ang tagal naman ni Dad, shucks. I’m so pagod naaaa,” and "Ang tagal naman ng sundo natin, kainis." Or I would walk around and say I’d go to the rest room. Yes, they were lame and kaartehan excuses. But it worked. Stupid guards.

Anyway, we waited for almost an hour before my dad finally went out. But I would never forget that there were a couple of hot guys – the first was a European guy (I think) and the other one was Asian (a Filipino). I don’t use the term HOT very often and for that, I mean, they really are. What's more kilig about it was the fact that they stood right beside me. They were waiting for their sundo, most probably. I was smiling like crazy and to distract them from the fact that I was staring at them, I constantly checked my phone, to make it look like I was waiting for my sundo too. But a few more minutes later, pft. BADING PALA SILA. Grr. The way they hold each other's hands and the way they walked after the Asian was done talking to their sundo on the phone... proved that they were indeed, gay.

It was such a loss to womankind. I mean, how could someone so hot be gay? Huhuhu. There is already a scarcity of the number of MEN in this world! Genetically speaking, the probability of male species being born is less than that of the female ones! Sad, sad, sad reality. That reminds me... I never got the chance to see the Engineering guy again after that faculty volleyball game last September. But for sure, hes not gay. Haay. The sad reality of studying in the same school but you never get the chance to see them that often sucks. Oh well... life will still go on.

*Pero sayang talaga eh. Huhu. WHY?!
